Raising awareness and offering support is key to turnng victims into being survivors.
I have supported Staffordshire Women's Aid with the opening of the Stafford refuge, raising funds to help with the fit-out, at a time when 32 refuges nationally have closed, between 2010 and 2014, due to funding constraints. I continue to lobby Central Government on long term funding for supported accomodation, including refuges.
